Association

The International College of Artists’ Strad (IKUS) is a non-governmental and non-profit association established to achieve goals in the field of arts and culture development and enhancement. IKUS was founded on October 8, 2013. It brings together a large number of artists, performers, educators, and collaborators to carry out joint projects both domestically and internationally.

Over the decade of its existence, IKUS has promoted art, creativity, culture, education, democracy, and the connection of artists from around the world. Members of IKUS are highly educated in their respective fields, with references from university educational institutions, enabling them to offer the highest level of education and project implementation in the fields of arts and culture. IKUS possesses workspace, a library, music archives, and equipment.

Quality education, information, and creativity provide the conditions for creating an international artistic network. Within the framework of international connectivity, IKUS has established professional partnerships with numerous universities and educational institutions, representative artistic associations, symphonic and chamber orchestras, production houses, and significant artists from the countries of the Western Balkans, Europe, and the world.

Jovan Bogosavljević

Jovan Bogosavljević is a Serbian violinist and composer born in Belgrade in 1980. He began learning the violin from his father, Dragutin Bogosavljević, a student of renowned pedagogues and violinists David Oistrakh and Boris Kuznetsov. This period of education culminated in him being the Absolute winner of the competition in Tortoni in the category of up to 30 years of age. He completed his undergraduate and master’s studies at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade under the guidance of Tatijana Olujić.

In 2002/03, he obtained a master’s degree from the Royal Conservatory in Brussels in the class of Igor Oistrakh, one of the greatest violinists of today. During his time in Brussels, he served as the concertmaster of the student orchestra as well as the concertmaster of the contemporary music orchestra.

After completing his studies at the Royal Conservatory, Jovan Bogosavljević furthered his education with Mikhail Kopelman, Pierre Amoyal, Kim Nam-Joon, Boris Kushnir, and Maxim Vengerov. As a soloist with chamber and symphony orchestras, he has performed in Serbia, all former Yugoslav Republics, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Italy, Spain, Turkey, England, Belgium, Greece, Bulgaria, Germany, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, USA, China, Argentina, Japan, United Arab Emirates etc.

He has also performed as a soloist at significant festivals such as Ars Musica-Brussels, Art Fest-London, Warsaw Festival-Poland, Stuttgart Festival-Germany, Copenhagen Festival-Denmark, International Festival-Berlin, BEMUS-Belgrade, Novi Sad Music Summer, Niš Music Festival, Kotor Art-Montenegro, Ohrid Summer Festival, Skopje Summer Festival. As a soloist, he has collaborated with numerous conductors: Mladen Jagušt, Uroš Lajovic, Dorian Wilson, Andrei Andreev, Milena Injac, Biljana Radovanović, Jovan Šainović, Bojan Suđić, Berislav Skenderović, Saša Nikolovski Đumar, Anatoly Novitsky, Bart Bucart, Stanko Šepić, Vesna Šouc, Svilen Simeonov, Fan Tao, Igor Budenštajn, Bernard Steiner, Igor Tatarević, Đurđica Dašić, Christo Pavlov, Ivan Stojanov, Mark Kadin.

As a soloist, he has performed with many orchestras from the Belgrade Philharmonic to the Beijing National Orchestra. He has collaborated with numerous pianists: Ishil Bengi, Cui Lan, Yelena Yermakova, Isak Sekelji, Dragana Petković, Biljana Gorunović, Olivera Đurđević, Natalia Mladenović, Dejan Sinadinović, Aleksandar Serdar, Ludmil Angelov. He has also performed in duets with other instrumentalists: Dragutin Bogosavljević, Ljubiša Jovanović, Sanel Redžić, Maroje Brčić, Carlos Buono, Maria Rajković, Panta Veličković, Dragan Đorđević, Nemanja Radulović, Jan Luc Votano, Alan Bulgerijan, Roman Patkolo, Dejan Gavrić, Margarita Kalcheva. For many years, he has been performing worldwide as a guest soloist with the quartet from Munich, “Basiona Amorosa,” winners of the “European Quartet” and “Echo Klassik” awards.

He is one of the founders of the “International College of Artists Stad,” where he led the chamber orchestra “Hybrids” and the quintet for performing Astor Piazzolla’s music, “Solisti di Sud.” Jovan Bogosavljević is considered one of the best violinists in the world for performing Astor Piazzolla’s music and was a finalist in the “Piazzolla Music Competition” in the soloist category in 2021. As a soloist and chamber musician, Jovan has made several recordings and CDs for PGP RTS, Contakt Line, performed over 1000 concerts, and as one of the leading artists in Serbia, has received numerous awards and accolades: “Artist of the Year” in 2006 by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, “Performer of the Year” in 2012 by Muzika Klasika etc. In recent years, alongside his solo performances, he has dedicated himself to composition and, after “Caprice for Solo Violin,” in the last two years, “Diptych,” a concerto for two violins and strings, has been performed in almost all significant music centers in the country and the region. In 2023, his work “Argentine Fantasy” was premiered at the “Ohrid Summer Festival” to exceptional reviews, also for two violins and strings. Since 2021, he has been performing as a guest conductor by invitation of the Mostar Symphony Orchestra. Since 2023, Jovan Bogosavljević has been the artistic director of the orchestra “Ikus Studio Orchestra” for recording musical materials, IKUS needs, and the film industry, in one of the best studios for recording orchestral music in the region, “MyRoom Acoustic Studio”. Jovan Bogosavljević is a regular professor at the Faculty of Arts in Niš and a guest professor at the Music Academy in East Sarajevo.

Marija Rajković

Marija Rajković was born in Niš in 1971. At the age of five, she began learning the violin at the School for Musical Talents in Ćuprija under the guidance of Professor Dragoljub Jovanović. She enrolled in undergraduate studies at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade at the age of 16, studying under Professor Jovan Kolundžija, and later obtained her master’s degree in the class of Professor Dejan Mihailović.

She made her debut as a soloist with a symphony orchestra at the age of eleven. She is the recipient of the Tito’s Fund Scholarship, as well as the Scholarship for Exceptional Talents of the Republic of Serbia. She received the Mokranjac Award for concert activities in 1986/87 and 1988. As a soloist, she has performed at significant festivals such as Nimus-Serbia, Ledamus-Serbia, Baroque Evenings-Bosnia and Herzegovina, Chamber Music Annals-Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ohrid Summer-RSM, Skopje Summer-RSM, Strumenti & Musica-Italy.

She has collaborated as a soloist with conductors such as Sandro Zaninović-Croatia, Vančo Čavdarski-Macedonia, Svilen Simeonov-Bulgaria, Vesna Šouc-Serbia, Stevan Spalević-Serbia, Anatoly Novitsky-Russia, Nicholas Riziotis-Greece, Claudio Scabotini-Italy, Milena Injac-Serbia, and Igor Tatarević-Croatia, Đurđica Dašić-RSM.

She has given full evening recitals with pianists such as Nada Kecman, Jovanka Aranđelović, Ljubinka Kostović, Istra Pečvari, Stevan Spalević, Bojan Mladenović, Sonja Radojković… She has performed as a soloist in the countries of the Western Balkans and Europe. Marija Rajković furthered her education with Ana Šumačenko and Jovan Kolundžija.

She is one of the founders of the “International College of Artists Strad,” the chamber orchestra “Hybrids,” and the “IKUS Studio Orchestra” based in Niš. As an educator, she has conducted numerous masterclasses at universities and educational institutions both domestically and internationally, and she is the recipient of the Faculty of Arts in Niš Award – Plaque for “Exceptional success of students in competitions of national and international significance and concerts of students with orchestras at home and abroad” for the academic year 2022/23.
